Business Outcome

Better-quality pulse surveys drafted in minutes, without needing a survey-design specialist for every check-in.

Workflow Overview

Forms
Copilot

Step 1: Describe what you want to learnForms

Write a plain-language brief of the pulse check's goal — for example, "gauge how the team feels about the new hybrid schedule policy after one month" — rather than starting from a blank question list.

Step 2: Generate a first draft with the Surveys AgentCopilot

In Forms, ask the Surveys Agent to draft the questions from your brief, including an appropriate mix of scaled and open-text questions.

Prompt idea:

Draft a 6-question pulse survey to gauge how the team feels about the new hybrid schedule policy one month in. Include a mix of rating-scale and one open-text question, and keep it short enough to complete in under 3 minutes.

Step 3: Ask the agent to critique its own draftCopilot

Ask it directly to review its own draft for leading questions ("don't you agree the new schedule is working well?"), double-barreled questions (asking about two different things in one item), and scales that don't match the question type.

Then have it rewrite the specific questions it flags rather than regenerating the whole survey from scratch.

Step 4: Do a final human read before sendingForms

Open the live Forms preview and read it the way a team member would — check tone, and specifically look for anything tied to your team's particular context (a recent reorg, a sensitive ongoing issue) that a generic AI pass wouldn't know to avoid or soften before you hit Send.

Check the work

  • Check for leading or loaded phrasing in every question — a subtly biased question quietly skews the results.
  • Confirm the answer scale actually matches the question (a yes/no scale on a satisfaction question loses nuance).
  • Test the survey yourself before sending to make sure it takes as long as intended and nothing reads as confusing.

Expected Outcome

A ready-to-send pulse survey with clear, unbiased questions and appropriate answer scales.

AI is the right call here

Spotting a leading or double-barreled question is a judgment call about how people will read the wording — not something a fixed checklist catches as reliably as a self-critique pass does.
